Dear Ms *****,
First of all, I would like to apologise for sending you this letter.
Unfortunately, I see no other option at this time to limit the damage.
Let me first introduce myself. My name is Chris ****** and your company apparently wants to get rid of me.
My background: I am not a judge, a solicitor or a lawyer, and I did not finish primary school.
In my younger years, I was bored and became rebellious.
On 1 January 1979, I joined the then state-owned company PTT. (I was still of school age.)
After almost a year of practical training, I became an RA2VMTNG (Civil Servant 2 Technical Group Specialist). I was given almost immediate access to the communication towers in the Amsterdam and Haarlem region. This was later extended to the whole of the Netherlands.
In mid-1990, the towers became part of my field of work and I rose to the position of high-frequency radio communications specialist.
I became jointly responsible for many critical communication systems of the government and Schiphol Airport. It was a position of trust that required a new Certificate of Good Conduct every three months.
Sometime around the age of 40, I passed MBO 4, which I completed after work. I did not finish HBO due to work pressure.
So I am not stupid, but because of my disability, I was a kind of underestimated victim of this society.
Let me limit myself at this point to saying that I have a very positive disability.
In the 1980s, I was the technical director of a radio station with 30 employees.
On 1 June 2011, I left KPN after 32 years. Despite the fact that I was difficult for managers, KPN was very disappointed that I had decided to leave.
I became the director and major shareholder of a private limited company with a general partnership underneath it. And now, after a battle lasting more than 10 years, I have been declared completely unfit for work. Nevertheless, after this stressful period, I would prefer to return to a nice job in radio communication. At present, I limit myself to voluntary work at the food bank and, previously, the Red Cross, neighbourhood councils and the animal ambulance.
Given my track record and the many positions of trust I have held, it pains me greatly when Mr *lawyer* writes to the court that I am not allowed to enter the tower because I might sabotage third-party equipment in the tower.
I will be forced to write about this pain as a reporter through the many media outlets that are still available to me. This is something that no one can forbid me from doing.
Mr *lawyer* may have managed to overturn two court cases, which cost me quite a lot of money, but he has still not achieved his intended goal (terminating the agreements). I cannot imagine that this is what you or your predecessor had in mind after three years.
At this point, I dare say that Mr *lawyer* has only stroked his own ego, but that in doing so, he is further undermining Cellnex and Alticom. I have already issued an opinion on this matter to Ms *Commercial Developer*.
I am currently preparing for proceedings on the merits. I don’t mind doing this, but I would of course much rather spend my time on more positive things. (fishing or enjoying the sun)
I am very open and honest. I am also a pit bull who, once he bites, never lets go.
On the other hand, I am a huge advocate of resolving matters in a friendly manner.
What bothers me most is the question: Why? Why do you want me out of the tower?
I am not in anyone’s way and I am not using any commercial space that you could rent out.
Have I done something wrong? Have you received incorrect information about me? Or, like me, do you know nothing about it?
The latter in particular affects me greatly, partly because of my positive disability.
Your colleagues do not want to sit down with me. For whatever reason, they are keeping their distance.
Unless I am prepared to pay a rent increase of 7000 times the current rent.
I cannot comprehend this. My disability is not contagious, so they cannot use that as an argument either. And how am I any different from fellow radio amateurs who have the same goal as me, for the same fee? I am not doing this for myself, but as a volunteer for a large part of the 12,500 radio amateurs in the northern part of the Netherlands. A hobby that is dying out, partly because of this. These hobbyists are precisely the people you will desperately need in the future.
The choice is yours. You can remain silent, or you can simply talk to me over a cup of coffee. I will respond to whatever you decide to do.
And yes, I know, you can terminate without giving a reason. But you cannot terminate without rules.
I will continue to build my case. I also suspect that you have no idea where this case started. Given your position as CEO, I fully understand that.
I will try to give a brief summary of matters that have largely taken place under the umbrella of Cellnex:
- An agreement was concluded with the promise that this would offer me security and that I could not simply be evicted in the event of a takeover.
- As a result, I gave up the existing tolerance policy with access to all towers in the Netherlands.
- Someone with an access key opened a door to my space. In doing so, and/or as a result, part of my transmission equipment was stolen. (This has been reported to the police.)
- 360 metres of my 1 5/8 inch coaxial cable was stolen from a mast.
- Under your supervision, several of my antennas were cut from a mast without any consultation. Active transmitters were connected to these antennas.
- Agreements were made to install additional antennas in the Lelystad tower, partly to mitigate the above. I never blamed you for the above because I was able to use Lelystad.
- In order to carry out the aforementioned work, I had to take expensive courses.
- However, there was no follow-up due to the departure of your employees and an inadequate response.
- Triple sabotage was committed within the walls of the Lelystad tower between 2022 and 13 March 2024.
- Insiders at the Lelystad tower committed a crime with my transmitter equipment during the period when I was not allowed to enter the tower myself. I reported this to the RDI.
- By refusing access, the police were unable to investigate the crime scene in relation to the sabotage.
- Mr *lawyer* has accused me twice of not reporting my change of address in time, which resulted in the first termination notice in 2022 not being delivered to my home. This is incorrect, as I can easily prove by showing the email correspondence.
- Cellnex/Alticom did not know which space I was using. For example, Ms Commercial Developer thought that I was using a small rack in a 19-inch cabinet. In reality, I have a full 19-inch cabinet of my own with some filters on top and verbal permission to add a second 19-inch cabinet. Only the expansion of the new antenna positions at a height of 175 metres still had to be assessed and signed off by the antenna manager. Both the antenna manager and the former Commercial Developer have left Cellnex/Alticom.
- I rent space not only in the Lelystad tower but also elsewhere in the country. But once again, I have to conclude that your installation base data is not up to date.
On 13 March 2024, under the supervision of a technician, I was allowed to enter the Lelystad tower.
At that time, I took the active equipment with me for repair, partly to prevent another crime. On 13 March, in the presence of your employees, I noticed that the antenna cables of the transmitter and receiver had been swapped. This is not something that happens spontaneously and on its own. As a result, both the transmitter and the receiver burned out (this is the third instance of sabotage within the enclosed space of Cellnex/Alticom, which in this case could also have caused a fire).
I am therefore very curious to know whether your reasons for removing me from the tower after 45 years outweigh what I have listed above.
It goes without saying that you are free to decide whether or not to enter into discussions with me.
I would, of course, greatly appreciate it if you were willing to talk to me and allow me to explain a few things in a personal meeting with you.
I look forward to receiving a positive response from you.
Yours sincerely
Chris ****** ******* Lelystad
